Bulk material handling equipment for steel & mining industry

The steel and mining industry are crucial components of the global economy, with metals and minerals extracted and processed for use in construction, infrastructure, transportation, and numerous other applications. These industries require specialised bulk material handling equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations where equipment such as magnetic separators, metal detectors, vibratory feeders, vibratory screens, slip ring assemblies, and cable reels play crucial roles.

Magnetic separators

Magnetic separators are essentially used in the steel and mining industries to remove ferrous metals, such as iron and steel, from raw materials, finished products, or waste streams.

Magnetic separators work by attracting and separating magnetic materials from non-magnetic materials. These separators are used in a variety of settings, including in line with processing equipment, on conveyor belts, or in chutes and hoppers.

Electro Zavod has been a pioneer in magnetic separators providing magnetic separators to segregate magnetic materials from non-metal fractions for a variety of applications “ in steel, sponge, mining, cement, power, ports, etc.

We manufacture both electromagnets and permanent magnets with the following variants:
electromagnetic separators: suspended, overband (inline or cross-belt), and boosting type.
Permanent separators: belt type, magnetic pulley, and magnetic drum type.

USPs: With cooling options of oil-cooled and air-cooled our magnetic separators are easy to install and maintain, highly efficient and weather-proof.

Metal detectors

Metal detectors are essential tools in the steel and mining industries, used to detect and remove any metal contaminants that may be present in the raw materials, during the production process, or even in the final product finding applications in cement plants, mining, thermal power plants, chemical plants, glass, plastics, paper mills, plywood manufacturing, and rubber processing units.

The metal detectors used in these industries are designed to detect a variety of metals, including iron, copper, aluminium, and more.

Metal detectors are usually installed in conveyor systems, chutes, or hoppers and are used to inspect a wide range of materials, from bulk minerals to finished products.

Electro Zavod pulse metal detectors can easily identify and reject magnetic as well as non-magnetic metal contaminations to avoid any machinery hazards and save production downtime. Our industrial metal detectors have a 30-year record of high detection sensitivity and reliability under tough conditions.

USPs: Electro Zavod makes metal detectors easy to install, easily adjustable sensitivity, has low power consumption and ensures trouble-free operations.

Vibratory feeders and screens

Vibratory feeders and screens are essentially used to transport and process bulk materials. They help move materials from one area to another, typically in a controlled and precise manner.

Vibratory screens separate materials based on their size or shape. These tools are particularly useful where large volumes of material must be processed quickly and efficiently like feeding crushers, mixers, furnaces and scales, loading and sorting plants, and discharging materials from hoppers for mining and metals, steel, power, cement, ports, and many other industries.

Vibratory feeders

Precision-engineered Electro Zavod vibrating feeders use controlled mechanical vibrations to feed a variety of bulk materials (solids, powder, or granules) to a speci?c process or machine.

Based on the applications our feeders are categorised into three basic types:

  • Vibrating feeder with unbalanced motor: Designed with an electro-mechanical drive and produces linear vibrations; enclosed, dirt and dust-proof, IP-65 protected, and requires minimal maintenance.
  • Vibrating feeders with dual force exciters: Consist of two counter-rotating shafts with centrifugal weights that create linear vibrations.
  • Vibrating feeders with direct force exciters: Consist of dual shafts counter rotating via a toothed gear. These are suitable for heavy material handling in massive quantities.
  • Electro Zavod feeders are guaranteed operational reliability, ef?cient ?ow rates, low power consumption, low noise levels (less than 80 DBA), and long equipment life.

    Vibrating Screens

Electro Zavod vibrating screens are economical, customisable, and designed for maximum screening ef?ciency with the smallest possible screening area. Special attention is given to G-forces, vertical acceleration, single particle ballistic, and strati?cation of the product to ensure maximum performance in mines and quarries, cement and steel industries, fertilizer plants, chemical and pharma plants, food industries, glass factories, and other industries.

Based on their applications our screens are categorised into five basic types:

  • Vibrating grizzly screens: Used for extracting small, coarse materials from storage hoppers for a wide range of materials from 2,500 tph iron ore to 200 tph of quarry stone for the most arduous operating conditions.
  • Circular motion screens: Highly effective for handling high volumes of dif?cult-to-detect products such as angular, ?brous, and wedge-shaped shredded parts.
  • Linear motion screens: Provide maximum performance and capacity using 'thin bed' screening technology. Operated either by two unbalance motors or by a mechanical exciter, these screens work best at a low inclination with slope angles.
  • Multi-slope vibrating screens: Designed for ?ne particle separation requiring a high level of precision. With varying deck slopes, the screens achieve greater screening ef?ciencies at higher capacities than conventional horizontal-type screens.
  • Dewatering screens: Suitable for separating solids from liquids in the wet ore and mineral processing industry.
  • Electro Zavod vibrating screens are guaranteed for operational reliability, ef?cient ?ow rates, low power consumption, low noise levels (less than 80 DBA), and long equipment life.

    Slip ring assemblies

Slip ring assemblies are an essential component of rotary kilns used in various industrial applications, such as cement manufacturing, chemical processing, and mineral processing. These assemblies allow for the transfer of electrical power and signals between stationary and rotating components of the kiln.

In a rotary kiln, the slip ring assembly typically consists of the slip ring and the brush assembly. The slip ring is a rotating metal ring that provides a continuous electrical connection to the brushes, which are stationary components mounted on the kiln's stationary structure. The brushes make contact with the slip ring and transfer electrical power and signals from the stationary components to the rotating components of the kiln.

Electro Zavod slip ring assemblies are compact, easy to install, weather-proof, vermin-proof, and have long equipment life.

    Cable reeling drums/cable reels

Cable reeling drums/cable reels are used to safely and efficiently transport electrical power and control signals to machinery and equipment in mining, steel, cement, power, ports, and many other industries.

Cable reels can be designed for a variety of applications, including heavy-duty mining applications and steel mills, where they are exposed to harsh environmental conditions, such as extreme temperatures, dust, and humidity. Cable reels help ensure the safe and reliable operation of machinery and equipment, minimising the risk of downtime or accidents.

Electro-Zavod offers a comprehensive range of motorised cable and hose reeling drums with stall torque motor drives, VVFD drives with squirrel cage motors, and spring types for safe and ef?cient transmission of power, data, and ?uids from stationary to mobile equipment.

Electro Zavod cable reeling drums are categorised into three types:

  • Semi-parallel drums: Used for short cable lengths and for voltage up to 415 V; winding cable not guided.
  • Monospiral drums: Used for any cable length and voltage up to 11 KV; overall diameter determined based on available clearance
  • Parallel or barrel-type drums: Used for any cable length; voltage up to 35 KV; winding cable uniformly guided
  • Electro Zavod cable reeling drums are rugged, low in maintenance, and high in performance.

In conclusion, bulk material handling equipment plays a very important role in metals, mining, and related industries to ensure safe and efficient operations. These tools are designed to handle the harsh conditions and high volumes of materials required by these industries and help ensure the quality of the final products. As technology advances, these tools continue to evolve, becoming more precise, efficient, and effective, enabling the steel and mining industries to meet the demands of the global economy.
