UBM India successfully concluded the forth edition of Concrete Show India with over 150 Indian and global suppliers and manufacturers from across 10 countries and over 5,500 trade visitors, amidst an industry showcase of products, solutions and services at the Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre, Mumbai during May 19-21, 2016.

The event had a grandeur opening with a keynote address by S M Ramchandani, Joint Managing Director, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Ltd (MSRDC) and special address by Chief Guest Eknath Sambhaji Shinde, Cabinet Minister, PWD (MSRDC, Public Undertaking), Government of Maharashtra, along with other key dignitaries - Gajanan Kirtikar, Member of Parliament; Varun Sardesai, Youth leader; N A Viswanathan, Secretary General, Cement Manufacturers Association (CMA); Dr. Manamohan R Kalgal, President, Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) and Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, UBM India amidst an august industry gathering.

At the inauguration, the Chief Guest highlighted that the Concrete Show India will help bring in newer technologies for the industry, which will add value to new projects being initiated at the state level. He also added that they would like Maharashtra to be the biggest contributor towards the ?Make in India? campaign. They have tied up with MSRDC for construction of road projects and will be focusing on using advanced technologies which will help reduce the time taken for completion of such projects going forward.

The Infrastructure and construction industry representatives from China, Turkey, Germany, Korea, Italy, Japan, US and throughout the value chain visited India to gain insights pertaining to technology trends and market movements. The expo also included a series of knowledge sessions with key industry speakers from renowned companies such as L&T Construction, Gammon India Ltd, Ambuja Cements Ltd and MC-Bauchemie (India) Pvt Ltd amongst others. The first day witnessed presentations on topics such as Advances in Design Techniques for Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) Structures, Seismic Design of Multistorey Buildings, Modern Trends in Design and Construction of Flyovers, Elevated Structures, Underground Structures and Tunnels amongst others. Whereas, the second day witnessed discussions on themes - Infrastructure, Bridge Design and Construction: Best Practices; Inspection, Repair, Rehabilitation and Maintenance of Bridges and other Structures, Quality Assurance System and TQM for Highway Projects and Concrete Admixture Technology.

The Innovation Zone, Product Launch, and Concrete Man were some highlights of the event. The Innovation Zone saw five participants - Hicrete, Ashtech, Lucid Colloids, UN Sons and J.K.Cement. The viewer?s choice award in the Innovation Zone was won by Hicrete Decorative Systems Pvt Ltd, a company that brought the concept of various decorative concrete flooring systems in India. It is a one-stop-shop for high quality decorative concrete products, service, equipment and support.

Speaking on the successful conclusion of Concrete Show India 2016, Mudras said, ?The government?s big push for infrastructure and road projects will provide a huge potential for the stakeholders in the construction and infrastructure sector. The recent increase in investments in infrastructure by the government in addition to a number of steps to stimulate its growth in India clearly indicates a gap between the potential of the sector and its realisation. UBM India through the fourth edition of The Concrete Show India met its objective by providing a platform bringing forth the best technologies, practices, developments, brands, knowhow and expertise to India?s construction and infrastructure industry at a time when for the first time after many quarters, we are seeing a pick-up in demand for cement.?

The show was marked by industry players like Cosben Equipments, Elematic India Pvt Ltd, Godrej Construction, Hess Concrete Machinery India Pvt Ltd, Hyundai Aluminum Co Ltd, J K Cement, JSW Cement, Masa Concrete Plants India Pvt Ltd, Perma Construction Aids Pvt Ltd, PERI India Pvt Ltd, ROTHO - Robert Thomas, Smooth-On, Inc, Sommer Anlagentechnik GmbH, Toyota Forms, WAM India Pvt Ltd, Putzmeister, Ultra Tech Cement, Sika, Greaves Cotton, Imagico, Kyb-Conmat, Ajax Fiori and WEHRHAHN Gmbh amongst others.

The expo was well received by the industry at large with support from the Indian Concrete Institute (ICI), Builder Association of India (BAI), Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India) (ACCE), Indian Society of Structural Engineers (ISSE), The Institute of Engineers India (IEI), Indian Association of Structural Engineers (IAstruct), Indian Institute of Bridge Engineering (IIBE), Cement Manufactures Association (CMA), Construction Chemicals Manufacturers Association (CCMA) and Ready Mixed Concrete Manufacturers? Association (RMCMA).

Putzmeister at Concrete Show India 2016
Putzmeister?s compact stall featured state-of-the-art display, and was host to a steady inflow of visitors eager to know about the world class pumping technology offered by Putzmeister. It also extended an opportunity to the industry leaders, RMC players and builders to interact and collaborate with a team of Putzmeister experts. The Putzmeister West Team welcomed over 100 visitors at the stall and was extremely pleased about high demand of their bestseller ? namely the stationary concrete pump range. Fast moving models in this range include the 1404 E, 1405 D, 1404 HD and 1407 D, with features like hallmark S-Valve technology, IFM Electronic Gmbh display, with real time inputs and environment friendly technology leading to 50 per cent savings on hydraulic oil.

One of the most prominent visitors among hundreds who visited Putzmeister stall during the entire show was A.B. Khandelwal, Vice President, ITD Cementation India Ltd.

Putzmeister?s revolutionary batching plants come in two variants: MT-0.5 and MT-1.0 with output capacities of 30 cu m/hr and 60 cu m/hr respectively. These batching plants have been designed and manufactured keeping in mind Indian construction industry requirements i.e. safety, tough operating conditions, low maintenance cost, high output.

These have been designed to make mobility and maintenance easy, with features like the easy drive-through of Transit Mixers, and three-step maintenance ladder which save time immensely.
